Fashion and Etiquette

It is not really my preference to write about “negative” feelings and happenings on my blog, but there is something that needs to be said about Fashion Week and Etiquette…

If you do not know what I am talking about, I am talking about Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West arriving 40 minutes late to the Lanvin show in Paris.

Do not get me wrong, I am not pointing a finger at Kim just because I have an absolute disgust for her and her husband…I am talking about all celebrities who have done this in the past, (like Katy Perry last year) however, it just so happens that it happened again this season.

First of all, here is a link to the article by Cosmopolitan about Kim and Kanye West arriving late to the show.

Fashion week as a whole is a really long and stressful time for designers, stylists, photographers and buyers for department stores like Bergdorf’s, Saks, and Barneys. Lights are off, music is blaring, photos are being taken. It is an amazing spectacle for anyone who has the honor, no, the PRIVILEGE to be allowed into fashion week, ESPECIALLY PARIS.   (SOME of us would have given their left hand to be there…and I am left handed!)

So WHY is it that people feel the need to arrive late to the show? Do they not realize that they are not only disturbing everyone around them by basically crawling over them to get to your seats, but they are disturbing the photographers, models and designers? If you are 40 minutes late, why bother going at all? You missed MOST of it anyway!

I think it boils down to lack of respect. No respect to the people who were able to make it on time, no respect for the photographers, no respect for the models, and CERTAINLY no respect for the designer who is putting on the show.

So now that my rant is over…let’s talk about Kanye’s outfit…I will not say much about it since what I have to say will pretty much cover it in a few simple lines…

Kanye…if you have more cleavage than your wife (who is pretty much known for her cleavage…of both ends), you are not dressed properly. The holes in your pants make you look homeless…and I know for a fact that you are not, so shape up…get a suit and a smile…

I feel better now that I wrote all this down…Make sure you like my Facebook Page!!!!
