Holiday Outfits

Happy Sunday everyone!!!!

It is already October 12…a month and a half from now it will be Thanksgiving, and a month after that, it will be Christmas…STOP THE MADNESS!!

I love love love the holidays! I hate the snow, but the holidays are great! Tons of family and friends and food, AND FASHION!

I always go to holiday parties in the most fashion forward outfit I can think of. I like to make a statement with my clothes. Here are some tips to help you decide what you should wear for the holidays.

Thanksgiving: Wear something comfortable! You are going to be having a feast…anything with a stretch or it flows away from the stomach area so you can hide the inevitable food baby.  Have a shirt that is taken in right under the bust line and then flows out. Wide leg pants are easy to maneuver in, unlike jeans.

Christmas: I am a believer of wearing a dress for special occasions, but I am from Maine, so wearing a dress on Christmas day, it one of the stupidest ideas you can fathom. So I will create 2 different looks via Polyvore to give people ideas who CAN wear dresses on Christmas and not freezing your lady bits off. My family attends church on Christmas morning so the outfit I wear for Christmas has to be okay for being in church and next to my grandmother. I like a nice sweater, a nice pair of pants, maybe a scarf since it is freezing up here! But just because it is freezing, that does not mean I do not wear my heels…Just have to be extra careful. Just because you have to be covered up to go to church, does not mean you cannot be chic. Also bear in mind that you are going to be eating…again. Not as much as thanksgiving, but if you have a secondary Thanksgiving for Christmas also, make sure whatever you wear is comfortable. I feel like a lot of people associate Christmas with only green and red…well silver and gold are also lovely Christmas colors too! Doesn’t Burl Ives sing the song “Silver and Gold”?

A lot of people like to wear the season colors during the holiday which is fantastic, I love to do the same thing, however, do not be pressured into it, if green is not your color and you cannot pull it off, then definitely go with a color you are comfortable with wearing.

Happy Columbus Day Everyone!
