Can you believe that it is almost Christmas!? I have absolutely no idea where the year went.
Without a doubt, I tried a lot of different beauty products this year. With being in France for 6 months, and then coming back to the U.S.A I went through a lot of makeup, old and new. But let me tell you some of my top beauty pics for 2014.
Foundation: Without a doubt, This is going to be Femme Couture Creme Foundation. This foundation is thick, but you can barely tell you are even wearing it at all. I have very dark freckles, all over my face; when I apply this foundation, it covers them really well, and it blends SO easily. You can buy this foundation at Sally’s Beauty for around $13.00
Mascara: Mascara is one of the most important things I put on my face in the morning before I go to work. I naturally have really long eye lashes so I am unable to comment about “lengthening” but the best mascara I tried this year was Dior Show “Blackout”. I found this mascara to have minimal clumping compared to Maybeline, and CoverGirl. Dior Show mascara can be found at Nordstrom for $25.00. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative would be MaryKay “Lash Love” mascara and you can get that for around $15.00.
Eye Shadow: My favorite eye shadow, by far this year is my Chanel Illusion Creme eye shadow. I have three of them and I go into detail about them in a separate blog. These eye shadows come with an applicator blush and the amount of eye shadow you get in the glass jar is not a whole lot, but it goes a LONG way! Do not put too much on your brush. The Chanel Illusion Creme eye shadow can be found at Nordstrom for $36.00. I do not have a cheaper alternative, this one is by far, my favorite.
Eye Liner: I use 2 different kinds of eye liner everyday. On the top I use a liquid because it is easier to create a cat eye with liquid, and for the bottom, I use a gel crayon. I am pretty sure I have made a blog about my liquid eye liner, so for this one, I will talk about my lower eyeliner. I use “CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus”. It is a self sharpening eye pencil. It is not hard like one you have to manually sharpen yourself, the “old fashioned way”. This is a really smooth formula and it goes a long way. You can find this at most major drug stores and at WalMart for around $6.00.
Moisturizer: This one is too hard to pick one, so I have to go with two different ones. The first one is DiorSnow Transparency Day Moisturizer. This moisturizer is SO light weight and your skin just eats it up! I have been using this moisturizer for about a month and I will probably never buy a different moisturizer, unless Dior stops making it, which will be a sad day in my life. The scent is really clean and refreshing. This cream you can get at Nordstrom for around $90.00.
The other product I like is called “Vivo Per Lei”. This cream is actually a mask. It is mud from the Dead Sea, which has a lot of amazing minerals and vitamins that make your skin feel amazing. I also have the Vivo Per Lei under eye cream, which is amazing too. But this mask is from the Red Diamond collection. This mask has actual fragments of diamonds in them. Do I know what the diamonds do to help your skin look it’s best? No…but diamonds are a girls best friend and it is now in a mask, how much more luxury can you get!? Because the ingredients are so powerful, you are only allowed to use this mask once a week. I have used it for about 3 weeks and it is amazing. My skin feels so soft and fresh, and the scent of this mask is very clean; it does not have any harsh smells to it at all. You can find this mask on the Vivo Per Lei website (linked) and this will cost you around $700.00 (yes, you read that right). I have looked around on Amazon to find if they are anywhere else cheaper, and on Amazon, they are a heck of a lot cheaper, but I do not trust it. I bought a “Black Diamond Mask” from Amazon, and it arrived the consistency of milk…that is not a mask, so I am unsure if they are imitations are not, so I would buy at your own risk if you are looking to try this product from anywhere else other than from the actual manufacturer.
Other than those things, my makeup and beauty routine have been pretty much the same. If you have friends who are big into trying makeup and skin care products, think about getting them one of the suggestions above…they may find that they like the product you got them better than what they are using now!
Have a happy holiday everyone!
